The Wire
I didn't spend much time playing games this weekend. I finished up the last season of the Wire and it was an awesome show. Many people claim it's the best show on television and for me it's pretty close. The problem with having TV shows on Demand is that it's hard to stop watching them, we binge, I watched 6 episodes yesterday. The good you don't have to wait for the next episode but bad in that the episodes kind of lose their impact if there isn't time in between to reflect on what happened. The show ended reasonably well, but I wish there would have been another season.
Season 4 was probably my favorite season with 2 being the least favorite. The characters were really interesting and there were a ton of subplots to keep your mind engaged. They also did a good job of referring back to past seasons with characters popping up and running jokes that reward constant watchers. I've been reading some blog reviews of the episodes and there is a lot of stuff that I missed in each episode, one reviewer is a Baltimore native and gives insight into how the show was written based of real events in the town and who some of the real people the characters are based off.
